Very cute.

Note: position your cursor over the words "very cute." On a Windows machine, the cursor will change from an arrow to a cartoon hand with a pointing finger. That indicates that the text serves as a text trigger. If you click on "Very cute" your browser will take you to a webpage specified in the html tag. I apologize to those people who understand how this works. I really don't want to sound pedantic or condescending. If any LJ users have a prefered strategy for making text links more obvious, I would welcome your suggestions.

If you read the above and think I wrote it specifically for you, please know that I didn't. A surprising number of people don't seem to recognize a text trigger or understand how to activate it. Usually, such text will be underlined. I don't know why my LJ won't display an underline even when I use the underline tags. Again, suggestions welcomed.

the only other way i could think to make a hypertext links more visible on lj would be to change the color of the links.
i'm assuming you could do this in the override section of your journal, but i'm not savvy enough to know or show you how to do it.

also, it just occurred to me that you could use he LJ cut feature to put parenthesis around the text.

Right on! That sounds like a plan, but can the lj cut tag be made to serve as a link to another website?

Perhaps making the link text bold or larger would be helpful? I haven't experimented much with LiveJournal, so I don't know how much control you have when formatting.

These are the types of instructions I type on a daily basis, so I totally understand. As the sole sysadmin/helpdesk person, I get buried with dumb questions, and I often have to write lengthy, step-by-step instructions.

This morning, I had to spend 10 minutes giving detailed instructions on how to copy a file from the desktop to a floppy disk.

It's a wonder I stay sane.

Oh, and you are correct - very cute.
