Janet's right globe

Here is the most insightful commentary I've read on the Janet-Justin-Super-Bowl-Boob incident.

My two cents? I'm reminded of Martin Sheen's line from Apocalypse Now.

Captain Willard: “Charging a man with murder in this place is like handing out speeding tickets at the Indianapolis 500.”

There's a good side to this
-making a slight ref to one of your cartoons.

The FCC chairmain blew a gasket and is going to issue massive fines. He didn't like his kids seeing Janet's pierced titty or something like that. We'll simply end up paying for 200 * $27,500 seperate fines through raised advertizing rates and subsequent price increases. However, I bet some pride will be hurt and some people who thought they 'bought' the president will feel both worried and betrayed for getting punished for pushing their lame, voiceless smut down the country's throat.

If the 'big media' decides that Dubya once elected will scapegoat them for everything that goes wrong, they might reverse the propaganda machine. (It's the teeevee that caused those food riots!) Playing "Bring 'Em On!" at the beginning of each and every announcement of a US servicemember casulty in Iraq alone could do wonders.

Re: There's a good side to this
Yeah, Republicans find themselves in the odd and unenviable position of at once working to de-regulate the ownership of big media and to impose strict moral controls on media content. Not that they have much trouble with espousing inherently inconsistent positions.
