Ordinary riches can be stolen; real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.

-Oscar Wilde

It's a kind of spiritual snobbery that makes people think they can be happy without money.

Always thought we should revise that old pithy Biblical saying, "The love of money is the root of all evil" to reflect the true reality, which is "The perceived lack of support is the root of all evil." When folks are desperate, no matter how unresonable their perception, they get crabby, then grabby, and all sorts of antisocial and immoral behaviors result, from shoplifting to war.

After all, it was a perceived lack of support that led to "the first murder" of Abel by Cain. If God had just set fire to Cain's vegetables...

Ah, well. The first example of "blood money". "Sorry, Cain, we don't accept Artichoke Express at this venue... Do you have Venison or Mutton Charge?"
