Boredom is a symptom of an inability to concentrate. When we are bored, it is always first and foremost with ourselves. We bore ourselves with the wearisome and repetitive round of often inane and sometimes frightful thoughts and images that the subconscious generates on the screens of our minds. When our attention is concentrated and fully engaged in the moment, our psychic energy is so fully utilized that none remains for unconscious chatter.

-Laurence G. Boldt, author of The Tao of Abundance: Eight Ancient Principles for Abundant Living

Boredom is rage spread thin.

-Paul Tillich
