Cob Castle at Wattle Hollow

Remember that cobbing seminar I attended (for part of one day) last summer? (No?) Well, here's the finished product.

Yes, I remember! Thank you for sharing the photos, that is so great.

How much does a project like that cost, overall?

cost?
I think Joy projected the total cost at $50,000, and that's with a bunch of free labor probided by seminar participants. Other than the materials used in the walls and the curvilinear shapes, it's a pretty conventional building with conventional wiring and plumbing. Those things ain't cheap.

Re: cost?
It is a jewel, though. I still like the adobe-like look of the construction, and those stained glass inserts are marvellous; I'd love to know how those were made.

So they went with conventional plumbing, rather than something like those compost toilets you are planning? Really a shame, it looks like this place could utilize and showcase a lot of alternative energy and living methods.

Re: cost?
Actually, as I recall, there's a composting toilet in an outhouse next to the building, so I could be wrong about the plumbing.
