2012: Pinchbeck vs Strieber

vector: piozacharias

Whitley Strieber interviewed Daniel Pinchbeck for Coast to Coast. Daniel Pinchbeck accused Strieber of being the thrall of dark alien entities and tipping the scales in favor of a near-future Malthusian Correction by predicting it. Whitley Strieber thinks little of Pinchbeck's wishful magical thinking, though he does regard Pinchbeck's optimistic hopes for the potential of humankind as "touching and very appealing."

You can read Daniel Pinchbeck's version of events here:

And you can find Whitley Strieber's side of the story here:

Whitley wins in terms of word count.

To someone in headspace of the likes of Richard Dawkins or Eliezer Yudkowski, this disagreement has all the lucidity and gravity of a debate between two mental patients over whether the gremlins beaming radio signals into their dental work have pink toes or fuschia.

I'm reminded of an argument that King Mob has with his ex-girlfriend in Grant Morrison's "The Invisibles."

I had to take a listen :)
it was a curious little left-brain/right while I tinkered on a page...made this following quote from Pinchbeck's version of the evening all the more...silly, i suppose...heh

"On a subliminal or subconscious level, Strieber appears to have made a Faustian pact with these Mephistophelean entities, and unfortunately he is helping disseminate their negative and destructive frequency into human culture and consciousness, at this point in time.

I haven't actually listened to their squabble...
...yet, but if once I get this week's podcast up, if Mike Hagan hasn't put Monday's RadiOrbit up for download, I may give it a listen.

Yeah, finally this afternoon, and I did enjoy it - and while, like you said that it isn’t entirely representational of the last 50 episodes as a whole, it did seem to me as a very tight use of the collection.

Thanks again and again for all of the filling brain foods :)
