Episode 135: '08 Wrap-up

"C" stands for consciousness

135: '08 Wrap-up

KMO looks back at the C-Realm Podcast's 2008 offerings, anticipates the challenges of the coming year, reads email from listeners and discusses the on-going C-Realm Project with guest Neil Kramer. This is a long one folks, so make yourself a hot drink, get comfortable, and settle in for 90 minutes of in-group preening and navel gazing. Music by Glöd.

Links tomorrow. Happy New Year!

Thanks for airing my comments. I was kind of surprised at your response, though. With a few exceptions, I think you usually do a pretty good job of balancing the dialog in your interviews. You're not very confrontational (and perhaps you should be more confrontational sometimes), but there are other ways to influence the pace with which an interview moves across a space of ideas.

It's all good

That's what I took you to be saying. Not everything I said after reading your comments was a response to your comments. If you listen to the episode with Dennis M. Bushnell (108: Methane Burps and Tele-Everything), I start off by reading a letter from a dyed-in-the-wool Libertarian who complained about how I give environmental doomers a free pass to talk about global warming and climate change without confronting them with "the truth" that the whole business is made up to usher in world domination. I get a fair number of such complaints. Not all on that topic but from people who think I failed to call bullshit when it should have been called.

And obviously I really liked your "in group preening" phrase, as I used it in the show description. :)

Thank you again for listening, providing feedback, and supporting the podcast.
