KMO's Disclosure Poll

Suppose, just suppose, that there are 'advanced beings' of some kind (extraterrestrials, ultraterrestrials, co-indigenous stud muffins, whatever) here on Earth and that they have had a long-standing, significant, but mostly covert influence on the course of human evolution and history. Suppose also that privileged agencies within certain national governments have long known of the existence of these 'advanced beings' and possibly even had some dealings with them.

How would you like your disclosure?

Ultraterrestrials

I take the term to refer to other, non-human, presences which aren't from "here" exactly, but which came to be here by some process other than crossing vast interstellar distances in metal cans.

As I write this there has been 13 participants on the LJ poll.

I have to admit that I'm rather surprised that 2/3 of my responses agree with the majority of poll-takers so far. Yes, I would think it best that an unmediated disclosure brought about by the beings themselves would be best, and I also feel that it should be done carefully and in a "low key" manner at first.

What took me off guard was the current response to the third question. Five people (45.5%) believed that "life would go on pretty much as normal!" Of course, in the limited, shaped context of a poll question, the answers provided are themselves constructed, leaving out colorful details and explanations. But, really? Life going on as normal?

I'm not sure how that should be interpreted. Does it demonstrate a general feeling of optimism about the hypothetical event? The resilience of the species to adapt to such proof and a transition in global culture? Or would such a significant event be glossed over as the regular joes like me go about their lives still concerned about making their house payment and other quotidian drudgeries?

I was one of the two people that answered "I probably wouldn't believe it." At first, of course. Blue Beam conspiracy and other NWO One World Government constructions of public opinion. To be quite honest, I probably wouldn't fully believe it until I saw one for myself and asked them about Chariots of the Gods and that whole anal-probing thing.

Only 15 people have taken the poll now, so the patterns you noted still hold.

You wrote, "Life going on as normal?

"I'm not sure how that should be interpreted. Does it demonstrate a general feeling of optimism about the hypothetical event? I think all of those have merit. There's also the possibility that since a great many people ALREADY believe that advanced beings have been players on our stage for a long time, the official announcement wouldn't change all that much.

What I find interesting about the results so far is that most people want the advanced beings, rather than government or the corporate media, to take the initiative in disclosure, but some of them want the disclosure to take the form of "All at once with official proceedings and much media hype."

Do they want the aliens to issue a press release and hold a press conference?

I'd be a lot more impressed and persuaded if everyone in the world reported having the same dream one night, like if tomorrow morning everyone I spoke to or compared notes with online told me that they had a dream in which aliens were giving a press conference and that the aliens had selected Robin Williams to be their terrestrial liaison. THAT, to me, would be a lot more persuasive than an actual press conference.
