Maybe it's a coincidence

I let my paid LJ account lapse a while back, and when it reverted to "free" status, I thought I noticed a marked improvement in performance. A couple of days ago I forked over the dough for another year's worth of "paid" status, and now the simplest thing, like looking at my friends list, requires hitting the refresh button five times to get something other than "Page cannot be displayed," and I get gobbledygook error messages like:

[Error: Can't call method "selectrow_hashref" on an undefined value at /home/lj/cgi-bin/ljlib.pl line 237. ]

Whassup with that?

That would be a pretty gacky thing. I think some of us are on different servers than others. My aggravation is having to clear my cache before I go back to the pages, because they don't automatically update if I don't.

well for one thing, don't hit refresh five times. i think that has a lot to do with the slowness of the paid servers. when you hit refresh, it sends another request to the server, and as a result, the server has more to process, and it takes longer. instead of hitting refresh, try closing the window and bringing it up again, or wait a couple of minutes before you try to reload it.
