Really good piece here. The text was a bit hard to read, but I found it on the link. You might make the text lighter and the image a fraction darker, or use the "Color Dodge" layer filter?

Still, definitely running the 'other way' to dreams and spirits and feelings, different from money and excess posessions and the constant feeling of 'empty' that needs to be filled.

And protection is definitely what you and he are seeking now.

This might be OT it might be on topic;

I was wondering your feelings on what I call "The Pornography of Violence". That is the wretched excess of violent imagery in media culture, but the TIGHT control of sex and sexuality.

-Don't have time for a large essay, so I'll focus on the video game end.

The re-interest was inspired by news controversy over "GTA: San Andreas" since there is some kind of 'patch' going around that allows the 'hero' to actually 'do it' (onscreen) with his girlfriends. Right now, believe it or not, Congress is investigating whether or not the company making the game had anything to do with the patch, or if it is just the work of some 3rd party.

That reminded me of when the "Mortal Combat" adaptations for the home console were released and the excessive gore removed, but then the 'unlocking' codes filtered out a few months later. A few news stories but not action.

Then, a few years later, someone made a "Nude Raider" patch for Eidos's "Tomb Raider", just a replacement of Laura Croft's texture map so she looks naked. It generated congressional hearings on whether they were 'liable' even though it was obviously not them, as if they should have anticipated this and encryped their software to make it harder to get the shape maps.

Now, most neither want kids exposed to either in more than the most minimal doses. I'm just pointing out the excess of lack of control on one end and the excess of tightness of control on the other.

I "fixed" the text.

This is as much as I plan to say in terms of self-justification: Money can buy things, and money can buy time, time to think, time to play, time to explore, time to learn, time to create.

Debt = Slavery.

As for congress investigation a dollup of sex that has turned up in a caldren of brutal violence, I can imagine feeling sickened and outraged at the absurdity and the gross misuse of public funds, but instead I'll simply shrug and think, "Yeah, that sounds about their speed."

I quietly scoff and roll my eyes when I hear Christians complain that the government persecutes them and that liberals/feminists/pagans have all but outlawed any expression of Christian belief. As if.
