Larrea tridentata

Controlling Herpes Simplex-2 (the Genital Herpes Virus) using Larrea Tridentata by Nicola McFadzean, N.D.

Today I posted my 3rd comic of 2006. I've posted 334 to date. I started the comic in August of 2000, and I completed 86 by the end of that year. I posted 139 in 2001, 42 in 2002, 25 in 2003, 23 in 2004, 15 last year, and 3 so far this year.

Conservatively, I work an average of 5 hours to complete one strip. That means that I've devoted somewhere in the neighborhood of sixteen hundred hours to creating the strips found in the C-Realm.com comix archive. Hopefully it won't require another thirty four hundred hours to reach strip number one thousand.

To complete a thousand strips by the end of 2012 would require that I post two strips a week without fail from now until the end of the 13th b'ak'tun.

I need an assistant. Would somebody please get around to conjuring a genuine AI already?

What kind of help?
I'd love to work on some C-Realm.

Kind of goes hand in hand with my GreenGestalt project. I'd be glad to do a 'guest strip' now and again in exchange for a cross-link credit, and it'd be fun to brainstorm on storylines, issues touched, concepts and memes juggled.

1. Talk about the herb "Salvia Divinorum" and it's profound hallucinogenic properties. Also the legal and social issues as it is gradually illegalized with minimal harm done to society, yet the government only takes token steps to stop Meth use.
---An art I'm concepting is the "Herbal sisters", plant women that are gestalts of the major psychoactive plants and their percieved personalities. Tobacco, Mary Jane, Peyote, Salvia, Mandrake, Datura and Nightshade.

2. Some visulazation of the insane spirit dominating America now. Kind of like a crazed roman emporer, espousing the virtues of empire while it burns as he speaks. Behind him is the "Terror King" predicted by Nostradamus.

3. A vision of two futures, merging and communicating. Like the "Old Man" and the "Green Man" from Gene Wolfe's novels, but of course a nearer time. One is a progressive future, where sense and goodness wins out. The other is where reactionary politics, short term greed, apathy and war continue their stranglehold.

We could e-mail and discuss things more. Characters to use, what to do and not do, etc... It'd be worth a few art hours now and again as diversionary practice, and it would be good advertizing for my new site, well worth the time.

Re: What kind of help?
The C-Realm project remains too personal for me to collaborate on the writing. Four fifths of the time I spend putting a comic together comes after I have completed the writing and drawing. Once I've got the drawings scanned, I'm following a fairly paint-by-numbers procedure that takes a lot of time. In the post, I was pining for an assistant rather than a collaborator. I'd like to hand off my drawings to an assistant, human or software, and only re-enter the process to put in the dialog. I almost always change the dialog to fit the space available for it once all of the visual elements have found their places.

I'd like to read comics of the kind you described. Where the subject matter dovetails with the C-Realm project, I'd certaintly link to those comics.
