Chris Martensen

Somebody recently alerted me to Chris Martensen's Crash Course website. This is hands down the best synthesis of the views expressed by C-Realm guests like Albert Bartlett, Ellen Brown, Bill McKibben, Dmitry Orlov, and Albert Bates. Each of the guests I just mentioned brings something uniquely valuable to the conversation, and I'm not saying that Dr. Martensen's synthesis captures everything of value that these guests have articulated, but in terms of connecting the dots in rock-solid fashion the Crash Course is, in my opinion and from my limited vantage point, peerless.

I don't remember who alerted me to this website. If it was you and if you're reading this, please post a comment and let me know. And please accept my thanks.

The Crash Course takes a little over three hours to complete, and I spent about a week to do it. (And I'll admit that I skipped over a couple of the early sections in which I judged myself to be pretty well-grounded, e.g. the exponential function.) It is three hours well invested.

Dr. Martensen made a podcast appearance yesterday that I just finished listening to and which I absolutely loved. You can find it here:

(Unfortunately, I did not find a download link, so I had to sit at my computer to listen to it. I really prefer to listen while walking or doing something physical, but there are some nuggets in here that made the ball-and-chain-laptop-as-mp3-player routine worth it.)

Finally, I think Chris Martensen would make an ideal C-Realm Podcast guest. I've invited him to appear on the program but have received no reply. If you'd like to hear a C-Realm interview with Chris Martensen, please contact him or post a message in his forum and let him know.

Ditto
The Crash Course is brilliant. I'm in the middle of Ch 10 right now. I fully intent on making some DVD's and distributing them. Thanks for the heads up on that KMO.

Another interview with Chris Martenson
I heard an excellent interview with Chris Martenson on Jason Bradford's Reality Report. You can find it here: http://globalpublicmedia.com/reality_report_chris_martenson_on_the_current_financial_crisis.

Some new Orlov comments
Hey KMO,

Not sure if you've seen the most recent Dmitry Orlov comments at his blog. Pretty sobering stuff.

http://cluborlov.blogspot.com/2008/12/from-prognosticator-to-witness.html

"...I haven't been posting of late, mostly because I feel that my job is more or less done. I called it as I saw it, and, unfortunately, I seem to have called it correctly. The US is collapsing before our eyes. Stage 1 collapse is very advanced now; stages 2 and 3 are picking up momentum. I might have more to say later. In the meantime, here is a guest post from a nurse in Michigan. He does not wish to be identified..."
