"LiveJournal, the San Francisco-based arm of Sup, a Russian Internet startup, has cut about 20 of 28 employees — and offered them no severance, we're told. ... The company's product managers and engineers were laid off, leaving only a handful of finance and operations workers — which speaks to a website to be left on life support. Matt Berardo, a Yahoo executive hired on last summer, is also believed to be gone."

I just purchased a license for WinRAR so I can run ljdump. They've taken my money, but they haven't sent yet me a product key. :(

LJArchive seems to work very well, is free, and doesn't need any stinkin' licenses ;)

LJ Archive
Thank you.

Here's an insider's report on the layoffs:

I'm told this site is swamped at the moment:

Re: LJ Archive
Interesting, thanks. LJBook is a pretty cool idea, actually. Their own site now says they're swamped, yeah.

Anything that is downloaded in some sort of compressed format will require that I get my WinRAR license or find some other utility to unpack the download.
