it hurts because we all know intuitively that love is not something that ends, not something that goes away. & so when someone tells us (symbolically if not actually, their words may even be saying something different) that they do not love us anymore, we feel that they never really loved us, like all the love we have felt from them has been torn out of our life, torn out of our memories.
love is not something that ends. but our relationships are not based solely in love, they are based also in sexual desire & desires for companionship, admiration, social acceptance, etc, & most difficultly they are based in the desire for (or structure of) exclusivity.

try to remember that it is not that love has abandoned you, it is only a shift in this game of relationships. & if you want to find abiding love, you must merely begin to forge relationships which are based solely on love -- relationships which make no demands & have no rules.

there is a basic love at the center of people. there is a basic love at the center of all relationships, however casual. open yourself to this, loose yourself of these grasping fears, & you will find yourself in a world filled with love -- & you will not need to be afraid.

have faith; love each other.

all my love to all of you...
