Conversations on Collapse Book Update:

Any Friends of the C-Realm in or around Chattanooga?

I got word from the printer today. The books are done, and I'm told they look terrific. The publisher will ship them as soon as they receive payment. I kept the Kickstarter funds in my Amazon.com payments account rather than my checking account so that I would be sure to still have them when the books were ready. I initiated a transfer of the funds to my checking account today, and when that transfer is complete I will call the printer and give them my debit card number. They will ship the books to me that same day. Amazon says the funds transfer will take 5-7 business days, so I expect to have the books in about a week and a half. I'll start mailing the books out to the Kickstarter backers as soon as I get them.

The first scheduled public reading will take place on September 25th and will be part of the annual Wine in the Woods homebrewing fundraiser to be held at the Sequatchie Valley Institute in Whitwell, TN (near Chattanooga).

The SVI event is on Saturday. I'd also like to do an event in Chattanooga on Friday night. Are there any friends of the C-Realm who have any ideas about securing a venue or (more importantly) assembling an audience of a dozen or more people in Chattanooga? If you think you can help, please contact me via email. <kmo@c-realm.com>

EDIT: This event actually fell apart and never took place, so the tour will actually (hopefully) begin in Asheville, NC on November 4th.

Austin event?
How about you and Albert Bates doing a book event at BookPeople in Austin, Texas? I think you'd reach the kind of audience that would respond to this. We could also organize a "tweetup" of some kind.

If you're interested, I'd like to help organize this.

Re: Austin event?
Hi Paul,

I'd like to do an Austin event. In November I'll be heading East and doing stops in North Carolina, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont. I'll talk to Albert and see if he'd be up for something out your way after New Year. He's been traveling and speaking continuously for a couple of months now, and I know he needs a break.

Thank you for the invite.

Stay well.

There's also Brave New Books which holds a lot of events and they fit your niche pretty well. http://www.bravenewbookstore.com/page/welcome

Union Park is a great place to hold some kind of tweetup. You and Albert are welcome to stay at the Lodge on my 15 acres just outside of Austin.
