Zim's Bob Weigh

I just heard on the radio that they're counting the votes in Zimbabwe after the recent election. Remembering that the chiefs of Zimbabwe's army have said point blank that they won't let opposition candidate Morgan Tsvangirai take power no matter what the vote count, I mused aloud, "Why are they even counting the votes?"

Lara overheard me and said, "They have to count the votes. You can't have an election and not count the votes."

"I have one word for you," I said, and paused to take a sip of tea.

It's my theory that this entire exercise we have been going through for months was orchestrated by the CIA to distract us from the government's plan to erode our basic rights while we timorously tell them to take it all and lick the bowl.

All things being equal, and the two major parties basically being the same cowboys wearing different colored hats, I think it was decided somewhere that the Count of Antichristo, Bush, would be the better candidate to pull this off.

I think they pulled Gore aside and told him what they had in mind, and he took a pass. "Thanks, but no thanks. I'll just grow a beard and go around looking cool for four years while you rape the country for military funds."

Do you want some meat to hang on that theoretical skeleton?

Radical. I knew I couldn't be the only one who was learning from watching too much television and reading revisionist history books.

There's a guy in LA, an ex cop, who did an expose' on the CIA and the way they are "budgeted" through the airlines, insurance companies and various other agencies of the government so that their true income and budget can't be realistically traced.

The whole thing is kinkier than an old garden hose. I'm starting to feel like Fox Mulder.
