Wanting to be with someone, then wanting to be with her more, then not wanting to be without her, is a process so quirky that complete mystification should be the norm, not the exception. Dating is a process of rich discovery -- the chief discovery being that most people, even that beautiful genius, just don't do it for us.

-Carolyn Hax

I feel flattered. :)

As to the other, I think I'm somewhere around step #4. It's not fun, exactly, but it's leading to some pretty good writing.

oh yeah, and
...today's choice of graphic is curiously appropriate.

I'm living that second quote right now... I'm vacillating between steps 4 and 5 lately.

Am I to assume, from all of this, that the Dark Elf Real Doll has attained true consciousness, or possibly even enlightenment?

As long as you don't think I'm the Dark Elf Real Doll.

(Though I've occasionally wondered what it would be like to have blue skin.)

Beautiful. I especially love the alternate to number six. Hee.

i'm not sure that the alternative really is an alternative, i think it is step six, which gives way to freedom, which is step seven

the shaman must die physically in order to be reborn spiritually.

totally unrelated but
i was trying to go to c-realm.com to find out your advantage id (since i wanted to link to a book on the 'zon in my latest journal entry, i figured you could benefit from a few cents and some under-the-table indirect promotion) and i omitted the hyphen, which took me to crealm.com, an internet christian bookstore. i was a little taken aback at first, until i realized that you probably get lots of cross hits from folks looking for christian books, and then i was amused at your opportunities for corruption... having said that, your Hokusai "wave" graphic is highly appropriate, just innocuous enough to get them into the "books" link.
